After a two week break forced upon me by really bad weather, I couldn’t resist the short gap in the clouds and braved the high winds by strapping the video camera to the top of a multiplex Micro Jet.
The Micro Jet is a tiny foam aircraft designed for cruising around the sky. The stock motor and speed controller were thrown in the bin and an ultra high performance ducted fan unit and brushless motor. With this configuration, the tiny (14 inch wingspan) model is capable of speeds in excess of 110mph.
The additional drag and turbulence caused by the camera sticking out the top of the fuselage can clearly bee seen on this short video during the test flight.
