How many more rules will there be in life? Politicians are adding new laws all over the place. Local government creates new by-laws, you go to work ( the only safe haven from the outside world ) only to find that there’s been a stack of new rules and procedures put in place overnight following a recent visit by some management company or other - tossers! It just goes on and on... There’s a new rule in the house this week. Something about cleaning up your own mess or something like that. What next? The bog rules?I propose a rule amnesty. All those sad irrelevant rules and laws that were created by some tosser ages ago get scrapped. We encourage them all to come forward and we’ll banish them to stoopid land somewhere else. Hell, well even offer to send the rule makers as well. Once phase one is complete, well move straight into phase two. Phase two is about new rule creation. If anyone wants to bring in a new rule, law or by-law then they must scrap an old one first. That’s right, we’ll have a rule for rules and a law for laws that states “the maximum number of rules is {insert maximum number here}”. There, that’s a load of statute books cleaned up. Maybe in the future people who invent new rules and laws won’t be so keen if they have to find one to let go first. My model flying club just reduced it's rule count from 26 to 20;- how cool was that? Rule hoggers = tossers! Dave My rule is: “there is no rule” Add your comment |
