So this years Glastonbury featured Shirley Bassey, and everyone is saying how great this is. Sorry guys, I just don’t get it. Maybe I misunderstood the Glastonbury “thing”? To me, it represents hearing loads of loud rock, grunge, pop, reggae, new age, metal music, the sort of stuff that would appeal to the gig going community. So where did the big band singer come from? How does this fit in? Assume for a minute that I went to a Coldplay gig and Shirley was the support act. Would I be happy. No. So, how does she fit in to Glastonbury then? I’d like to say she was great, and I’m sure she was, just not there in that setting. I don’t really care for her songs or music, so no thanks. Maybe the event organisers are ageing now? Go on, flame me, I dare ya. Add your comment |
