Road warriors unite
Wednesday, 04 July 2007 00:00
I travel around 75 miles to work each day and 75 miles back again.

Luckily for me it’s almost all motorway, even luckier that I tend to oppose the traffic flow, so the big delays are almost always on the other carriage way.

But now it’s the silly season. The roads (and motorways) are laced with caravans, all trundling along in their own world.

These drivers have stepped off the planet for a short while and are therefore in no hurry. Not a ‘break the speed’ type of hurry, but just a ‘keep the rush hour traffic flowing’ type of hurry or the type that is ‘I just want to get home’ and keeps you concentrating on the road and you focussed on your goals.

Now I’m really happy for these caravan toting bods. I’m sure they worked really hard all year for their luxurious existence in such a fine piece of engineering, but come on guys. Spare a thought for us poor bastards who still have to work.

Get out of our way, or better still, avoid the rush hour traffic.
