Woo hoo! The internationally recognised village of Brigadoon Kelsall. This time it’s the annual Folk Music Festival. Being a cheapskate I snapped up some musicians who were jamming (is that a real word?) in the Olive Tree pub.

The music was excellent, the atmosphere charged and the music began to flow.
I asked if I could take “a picture”, and after receiving the nod took these in a sharp fashion.

All the indoor images were shot at ISO 1600 on a Canon 350D with a 28-135mm F3.5 – 5.6 IS EF lens. Some images are wildly wrong in terms of exposure, however a couple look ‘right’ to my untrained novice eye.

On my way out another band and group Morris Dancers were just getting ready to start in the pub car park. The guys in the band looked like they were either going to play for us or shoot us. Posting the images on the web site infer that music was the order of the day.

I have yet to figure out how to photograph crowds and people as these images looked more like snaps (actually they were), so ill be consulting the manuals for composition advice.

This was a great end to a bank holiday weekend all based on photography. Saturday saw go karting at Three Sisters near Wigan, Sunday saw Motocross at Sandbach, Jodrell bank Radio Telescope and the folk dancing in my internationally renowned village :)
