As it’s on my doorstep, I thought I’d try Oulton Park for photographic opportunities. These images are from the Sat 31st march 2007 season opener meeting. Images are from the Club Formula Ford, Dunlop Tuscan Challenge and VSR Super Silhouette Championship races. I really didn’t know what to expect when I arrived so I turned up on spec. I found the venue photographer friendly, informal easy going. There are a number of vantage points to get great shots. Just driving in and heading straight will take you to the Avenue. You can park just about anywhere inside the circuit. From the Avenue you’ll get great inside corner shots from old Hall Corner.
I moved to the outside of Old Hall Corner by driving back out of the race venue and taking the next two lefts. You can re enter the track from the Eastgate Entrance and drive around to the corner for another load of great shots. I then drove around to the Knickersbrook entrance and tool a load of shots from the embankment leading (Clay Hill) up to the footbridge and from Knickersbrook itself. I also took the opportunity to wander around the pits area and get close to some of the cars. Definitely worth a day out, easy access and parking. Highly recommend.
